In Kosovo, various types of businesses can be registered, including Sole Proprietorships, General Partnerships, Limited Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies (LLC/LTD), and Joint Stock Companies (JSC). Foreign companies can also open local branches or representative offices.

To set up a company in Kosovo, you first need to choose the business type, define your business activities according to the Activity Code List, and register with the Kosovo Business Registration Agency (ARBK). Required documents include the ARBK application form, identity documents of owners or representatives, an authorisation certificate, Articles of Association, and in some cases the company statute or appointment decree. Registration usually takes approximately one week.

Kosovo has a simple and investor-friendly tax system. Corporate tax ranges from 3%–10% based on turnover. Value Added Tax (VAT) is 0%, 8%, or 18% depending on the type of goods or services. Income tax is capped at 10%. Other taxes include 9% withholding tax on rent and 5% social security contributions on employee salaries.
